MODERATE TREK - The major attraction of this trek is cultural aspects associated with Tamang and Sherpa Communities and their religion, culture, tradition and life style. Best time to Travel - September to May.

DAY 1: Arrival

Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, you can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square.

DAY 2: Explore Kathmandu

Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. After breakfast we visit UNESCO world heritage sites as one of the largest Hindu temple Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddha Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa followed with Kathmandu Durbar Square sightseeing. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 3: Drive to Syabrubesi [1462m] via Dhunche [2030m] | Through Trishuli Bazar | 8-9hrs

After breakfast we drive to SyabruBesi which is 135 km far from Kathmandu. The drive takes approximately 9 hours to reach SyabruBesi through PasangLhamu Highway. Moving to our destination, we pass through several locations like Kakani (best known for panoramic view of great Himalayas of Nepal, hills and Kathmandu city itself), Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche. The route will be accompanied by magnificent views of mountains such as Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Ganesh and Manaslu etc. and an opportunity to observe local villages, their people and lifestyle. Overnight at lodge in Syabrubesi.

DAY 4: Syabru Besi to Gatlang [2238m] | Welcome by local drinks accompanied by the welcome song in local language | 5-6hrs

After an hour and half of ascending from Syabrubesi, we reach a viewpoint from where we can witness the fantastic views of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and the Goljang valley. Continuing the trek, we head down to Goljang valley which is an hour walking downhill from the viewpoint. Gatlang, the beautiful Tamang village is another three hours walk from Goljang. Upon arrival we will be welcomed by Khada (white scarf) and the home-made local drinks accompanied by the welcome song in local language. We get refreshed and enjoy the local Syabru dance. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 5: Gatlang to Tatopani [2607m] | Locals believe that the waters have a healing power that eases away our aches and pains | 7-8hrs

Today is the longest day of the entire trip. The trek begins by descend to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River. Chilime Hydropower dam is also situated here. After lunch, the trail ascends up crossing the hanging bridge. The trail continues until we reach Tatopani, which literally means ‘hot water’. We can emerge our self in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a healing power that eases away our aches and pains. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 6: Tatopani to Thuman [2338m] via Nagthali [3165m] |Tibetan influenced culture |7-8hrs

From Tatopani, the trail ascends to NagthaliDanda – high open grassland with amazing views of snow- covered Himalayas. After crossing Brimdang village, our trek continues to NagthaliDanda. From there, the route turns downhill to Thuman village- Tibetan influenced Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 7: Thuman to Timure [1762m] via Rasuwagadi | an old trade route to Tibet | 4-5hrs

Leaving Thuman, we follow the path to get to Timure (an old trade route to Tibet), which takes approximately five hours. While trekking from Thuman to Timure, we can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi and TibetoBurman on the way. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 8: Timure to Briddim [2239m] |Living and experiencing with Tamang communities|5-6hrs

In Briddim, we can enjoy the cultural show performed by Briddim communities. Besides that, we can also experience Tamang home stay to learn more about their cultures and traditions. Living and experiencing with Tamang communities, we get to know that Briddimis inhabited by immigrant Tibetans. Houses in Briddim are roofed by stones. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 9: Briddim to Syabru Besi [1462m] |End of the trek |3-4hrs

The trail follows the descending path by crossing Wangel to get to SyabruBesi. Enroute we can enjoy the amazing hills and thier landscapes. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.

DAY 10: Drive Back to Kathmandu [1345m] Celebration for accomplishments | | 8-9hrs

Our trek journey ends at Syabrubesi and we drive to Kathmandu by following the same highway which takes approximately 8 – 9 hours. Arrive at Kathmandu and our team representative helps you to check in to hotel. Evening farewell dinner will be organized at Nepali restaurant with cultural program. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 11: Departure

This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3hrs prior to the departure time.

EXCLUSIONS:

  • Any kind of airfare: international or domestic airfare.
  • Meals other than mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Any items and services not mentioned in inclusions.
  • Nepal visa fees (US$ 30 Single Entry Visa valid for 15 days payable in cash at immigration and requires a recent photograph).
  • Items of personal nature such as bar bills, alcoholic beverages, laundry, telephone calls, extra mileage, personal gratuities as tips to the staffs at hotel, guide, driver, porter etc.
  • Personal insurance policy – suggested a comprehensive travel insurance covering tour and flight cancellations, loss of valuables, thefts, illness, accidents and hospitalization.
  • Expenses incurred by re-routing, inclement weather, floods, famine, political disruptions, strikes, riots and other disturbances.
  • Emergency evacuation charges [ Helicopter rescue].
  • Horse / Pony ride.
  • Photography charges in the monasteries and monument.

Terms & Conditions


Booking

Your contract is with Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels. A contract exists between us when we have confirmed you on our tour / hotel booking / or any other travel related services of your choice and we have received your booking request and deposits. All correspondence/s in respect of Tours / Travel Service bookings should be addressed to Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels.

Payments

For the services contracted, 40 % advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis and the balance amount should be paid before commencement of your tour. We hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as an advance payment, based on the nature of services and the time left for the commencement of the services.

Payment Options

Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cash payment to our office or by Demand Draft / Cheque. All payments should be free and clear of any withholding tax and deduction. Bank charges, if any, for remittance (by remitting bank or by intermediary bank) would be strictly borne by payer.

Rights to amend the itinerary if required

Tour once commenced will strictly go as per the itinerary finalised. In case of events and circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change all or parts of the contents of the itinerary for safety and well being of our esteemed passengers.

Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • 30 days & prior to arrival – 10% of the tour/service cost.
  • 20 days to 18 days prior to arrival – 20% of the tour/service cost.
  • 14 days to 16 days prior to arrival – 25% of the tour/service cost.
  • 10 days to 08 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
  • 07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show – NO REFUND.

Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.

Refund

In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

Where as in case of Cancellation before the commencement, it will take atleast two weeks time to refund the said amount.

Our Liabilities & Limitations

Please note that after the finalization of the tour/service cost, if there are any hikes in entrance fees of monuments/museums, taxes, fuel cost or guide charges by the Govt. of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels act only in the capacity of agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways & contractors providing other services & all exchange orders, receipts, contracts & tickets issued by us are issued subject to terms & conditions under which these services are provided by them.

All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants’ safety, comfort & general well being.

Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and checkout time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.

We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client’s risk.

Passports & Visas

To travel to India from overseas countries except for the citizen of Nepal & Bhutan, one needs a 06 months valid passport and a valid Visa. And processing of Passport and Visa are not included in the tour cost.

Health

Any person who has a contagious disease is forbidden to travel, any person found during the tour with such a disease will be asked to leave the tour and will have to make their own arrangements to return home.
