The last one hour is an uphill climb to our camp at Yabuk which is a fairly small, cold and windy campsite. (5-6 hours approx)

DAY 7 : Yabuk – Rest Camp

As we are in high country now the altitude effects will begin to be felt and our pace of walking will be slow. DAY 9 : Green Lake - Rest Day

From this Gap one can see the Geochala to the south. It is said that Tillman’s party in 1938 is perhaps the only climber to have crossed from this side to the other. The most impressive peak of siniolchu is just a few kms away across the Zemu glacier. This peak stands out around the entire mountain like Ama Dablam in the Everest area of Nepal. Green Lake is a base for mountaineering expxditions to the peak of this area. Whilst the water from Green Lake is now drained out due to Geographical changes and is now basically a dry basin, the misnomers of Green Lake is more than compensated by the surrounding great views.
